About the project
The project had three key aims: (i) to develop a merchandise range for Papunya Tjupi Arts while providing meaningful employment and the opportunity for professional development for artists and arts workers (ii) to create an alternate revenue stream for artists and community members (iii) to assist in the promotion of the art centre while generating traffic to the online store and exhibition room.
How we helped
We provided $5,000 to help cover the costs of artist and arts worker payments, licensing fees and part of the printing costs.
Outcomes
This project improved the physical, mental health and wellbeing of artists and arts workers by providing meaningful employment throughout the project. Artists had a chance to upskill and develop their arts practice through the merchandising of their own. The project also provided much needed financial support to a remote Indigenous community.
