Aboriginal Benefits Foundation 12th Anniversary Dinner & Art Auction

Aboriginal Benefits Foundation 12th Anniversary Dinner & Art Auction was held on Thursday 17 November 2016 at The Eight Restaurant at Haymarket. Simon Chan, Chair of Aboriginal Benefits Foundation, welcomed the 200 guests who attended the dinner and fundraising art auction and introduced the Patrons and Directors on the Board of the Foundation. The Hon. Linda Burney MP, delivered the keynote speech as Patron of the Foundation and Jennifer Isaacs AM, Founding Board Director of the Foundation, had an engaging conversation with Norma Tracey of Gunawirra NSW to inform the audience of Gunawirra’s program of assistance for pre-school children suffering trauma through counselling, and art therapy. Other Patrons and Special Guests of the Foundation present at the dinner are Djon Mundine OAM, Imants Tillers and Ah Xian.

Artists contributing artwork to the fundraising art auction include Tony Albert, Min-Woo Bang, Jason Benjamin, Sophie Cape, Blak Douglas, Tim Johnson, Euan Macleod, David Middlebrook, Reko Rennie, Luke Sciberras, Imants Tillers, Savanhdary Vongpoothorn and others. A very successful fundraising art auction was conducted by Paul Sumner.  Guests were treated to a 10 course Chinese banquet with entertainment provided by Blak Douglas performing on the didgeridoo.
