About this project
This project is to support participation in a program of fish and creek exploration marking out sites named (by Thancoupie) in sacred story place activities.
Dr Thancoupie Gloria Fletcher James AO, was an Australian sculptural artist, educator, linguist and is credited as the founder of the indigenous ceramics movement in Australia.
The project includes restoring old wells and using Thancoupie’s motifs to make signage and an explanatory booklet to educate fishermen coming to the region of Albatross Bay. It will also assist document fish regeneration as further funds will be sourced from this avenue.
